What's the endgame? Remepy builds hybrid drugs that combine medicines with software to boost efficacy. Its lead Hybridopa program, aimed at Parkinson's, showed improvements in motor and non-motor symptoms in Phase IIa trials and is now preparing for Phase III.
Why now? A new partnership with Merck is extending the approach into rare tumours. "Remepy is betting it can improve drug efficacy while helping drugmakers extend the commercial life of existing medicines," co-CEO Michal Tsur told Axios.
The signal: At $36 million, the round ranks in the top 4% of all Series A deals in Israeli health, a sign of investor appetite for platforms that blend software with drug development to squeeze more value from existing medicines.
