Exobiosphere Secures €1M in Non-Dilutive Funding to Expand Space-Based Drug Discovery
What’s the deal? In August 2026, Exobiosphere said it had secured €1 million in non-dilutive funding through Luxembourg’s Jeune Entreprise Innovante (JEI) aid scheme. The programme is administered through the country’s innovation-support system and was conditional on an innovation certificate from Luxinnovation.
Use of the funding: The aid will support Exobiosphere’s operations, commercial expansion, international business development and marketing, while helping the company scale its orbital high-throughput screening platform. The company says the platform can run more than 2,000 automated experiments per mission for pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms and research institutions.
Why it matters: Exobiosphere uses microgravity as an environment for drug discovery, biomedical research, disease modelling and phenotyping. Its platform is intended to let partners test biological systems in orbit and accelerate the search for treatments. The JEI scheme is designed for young, R&D-intensive companies and can co-finance up to 70% of estimated financing requirements over a maximum of three years, subject to a €1 million cap.
The funding is non-dilutive aid rather than an equity financing round. An existing 2026 grant round appears to represent this event on the company profile, so no separate funding round has been added.
