Contented raises $4.1M seed as its AI platform lands at UN event

Why now? The raise comes as Contented takes its technology to a global stage. Its platform is being used at the United Nations Global Compact's Forward Faster Now APAC 2026 event in Colombo, Sri Lanka, running August 11 to 12, to capture speaker sessions, panel discussions and attendee interviews.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2023 by Hannah Hardy-Jones and Lucy Pink, Contented aims to turn discussions into usable information. "We believe that conversations are the most underutilised resource in the world, and our goal is to ensure that these conversations are captured and transformed," Hardy-Jones said.
The company has grown from three to 20 people and now works with more than 400 businesses globally. Its technology was previously used at the UN Global Compact Network Australia's event in May.
The signal: The raise sits in the top 7% of all-time seed rounds for AI startups in New Zealand, based on a sample of 68 deals. It also signals momentum for Christchurch, which co-founder Pink called "the place to be to build a startup," adding the company "haven't found it hard to recruit amazing talent here."
