Beauty brand maker Nizu lands seed round from The Ventures

What does it do? Nizu was founded by chief executive officer Ko Seok-hyun, who ran a beauty marketing business in Japan for two years, alongside staff from the IT and beauty sectors. It designs and runs two in-house brands.
The flagship: Sione applies skincare technology to body care, targeting discolouration and skin tone on areas such as underarms and elbows. Its Retitanol Body Serum reached major pharmacy channels in Seoul's Myeongdong district within two months of launch, and the brand now sells in Japan, Vietnam, and the US.
Nizu's second brand, OnuiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, sells ball caps aimed at consumers in their early-to-mid twenties and has gained traction in Japan first.
What's the money for? Nizu plans to stabilise Sione's product supply, develop follow-up products, expand into markets including Japan and the US, and build an AI-based content production and localisation system.
Why they backed it: The Ventures chief executive officer Kim Chul-woo said brands no longer grow on product strength alone. "Nizu has already proven this approach in the Japanese market and secured speed through AI," he said.
Ko said connecting real customer problems to products and content quickly is Nizu's core edge, adding it aims to grow Sione and Onui into global brands.
