Precise Systems acquires simulation developer Ternion to boost warfighter training
Precise Systems has acquired Ternion Corp., a Huntsville, Alabama-based developer of commercial off-the-shelf and custom simulations for aerospace, defence, and transportation organisations. The move expands Precise Systems' interactive training and simulation capabilities for warfighter readiness. Terms were not disclosed.
Ternion builds simulation frameworks, including FLAMES, which develops composable constructive and virtual simulations and enables interfaces across live, virtual, and constructive environments. Precise Systems works in advanced engineering, digital transformation, mission systems, software development, and interactive training.
Combining Ternion's technologies with Precise Systems' capabilities is meant to speed up prototyping and make testing and evaluation more efficient. The goal is to deliver training, experimentation, and decision-support solutions to the Defense Department.
"Ternion brings exceptional technology, deep modeling and simulation expertise, and a strong record of delivering reliable solutions for complex mission requirements," said Scott Pfister, chief executive officer and president of Precise Systems.
Precise Systems will keep investing in Ternion's Huntsville-based team, support the FLAMES product family, and collaborate on technology development across the combined organisation.

The deal reflects continued consolidation among defence contractors seeking to combine simulation and engineering capabilities under one roof — a bet that faster paths from concept to mission application will win government work.
