What do they do? ClimateDoor embeds commercial operators inside early-stage companies to raise grants and venture funding. Standard Demand Partners handles the later end: project finance and institutional capital, with relationships across more than 750 institutional investors.
Why now? The combined firm has supported more than 150 companies and facilitated over $600 million in capital. Standard Demand co-founders Conor Wilmot and Liam Howe had built the advisory to support more than 50 companies before the deal.
What's the endgame? ClimateDoor wants to offer founders a single partner from seed stage through project finance. "A founder who arrives at ClimateDoor at the seed stage can now stay with one partner through a later raise and into project finance, without rebuilding capital relationships at every stage," said chief executive officer Chad Rickaby.
What changes? Wilmot and Howe join ClimateDoor's partner team. Standard Demand Partners is retiring as a brand, and the two firms will operate as one company. Their first public appearance comes at New York Climate Week in September.
The expansion angle: The deal marks ClimateDoor's largest expansion to date, extending its reach from Vancouver into the US market. The firm already runs regional teams in Singapore, Europe, Brazil, and Kenya, and leads European market entry and First Nations co-development through sister organisation Unify PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: The tie-up reflects a bet that climate and resource companies stall not on technology but on commercialisation and capital. By stitching together early-stage commercial support and later-stage project finance, ClimateDoor is positioning itself as an end-to-end capital partner across the funding cycle.
