Ex-Nubank CTO's Decade raises $85M in Latin America's largest seed round

What's the deal?

Decade, a Brazilian startup building AI-powered wealth management, has raised $85 million (440 million BRL) in a seed round closed in September 2025 and announced in August 2026. The round drew US funds Benchmark and Greenoaks, alongside Brazilian firms Norte Ventures and Atlantico. The valuation was not disclosed.

Who's behind it?

The company was co-founded by Vitor Olivier, a former chief technology officer at Nubank, and Felipe Meneses, a co-founder of Hyperplane, an AI company for financial institutions that Nubank acquired in 2024. Olivier serves as chief executive officer.

What's the endgame?

Decade wants to bring the multi-family office experience — traditionally reserved for the ultra-wealthy — to a much broader audience. It combines AI with human advisers to monitor clients' wealth, spending, risk concentration, liquidity, and portfolio allocation.

How it works:

Using Brazil's Open Finance system, Decade's platform consolidates users' banking and investment data, then applies AI to run simulations, financial projections, and answer questions. It already integrates with BTG Pactual, XP Investimentos, Genial, and C6 Bank, aiming to be an independent layer between clients and financial institutions.

Why Brazil first?

Olivier said the initial focus reflects a favourable regulatory environment and the plan to build a scalable product for international markets. He likened the ambition to what Nubank did in banking. "The smartphone and the cloud democratised payments and banking services, but people still have enormous difficulty investing, planning, and making financial decisions," he told NeoFeed.

The signal:

At $85 million, this is the largest seed round on record in Brazil and Latin America, according to Distrito — topping the $40 million raised by security startup Pax in May 2026. The size of the cheque underscores investor appetite for AI applied to consumer finance in the region.
