Reboat lands seed round from Seventure to scale sailboat refurbishment
What's the deal? French sailboat refurbishment startup ReboatDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed a seed round led by Seventure PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with participation from existing investors and business angels, including Charlotte Souleau, managing director of Back Market France. Both Seventure and Souleau will join Reboat's leadership team.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2024, Reboat carries out full structural, functional, and aesthetic refurbishment of used sailboats, tailoring layouts to each customer's habits and providing a two-year warranty on every vessel. Co-founders Dimitri Caudrelier and Vincent Taupin say the approach delivers prices 30% to 50% below new boats and cuts the carbon footprint by up to 64% compared with new construction.
Why now? The company launched against a backdrop of declining new-boat sales and an uneven pre-used fleet. It targets 30 boats in 2027, rising to roughly 100 in 2031 through direct deployment and local partnerships.
Where's the money going? The funds will extend and optimise Reboat's 1,000m² workshop in Lorient to raise throughput, and strengthen its technical, quality, and sales teams. The startup will also open a Mediterranean site to tap the southern coastal market.
The investor backing is the notable thread here. "We are proud to support an experienced and passionate team whose in-depth market knowledge and quality of execution reinforce our confidence in the brand's development potential," said Isabelle de Crémoux, chair of Seventure Partners' management board.
The signal: Reboat's raise reflects investor appetite for circular-economy models applied to hard assets. By framing refurbishment as both cheaper and greener, the company is betting that extending boats' lifespans — not building new ones — is where recreational boating heads next.
