Pitzi and Renov merge to build R$280M smartphone lifecycle group

What's the deal? Brazil's Grupo Pitzi has completed a merger with RenovDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a specialist in trade-in solutions for electronics. The combined group projects R$280 million in sales in 2026 and brings smartphone protection, rental, and buyback under one structure.

What's the endgame? The companies want to serve consumer-electronics retailers across the full smartphone lifecycle — from trading in used handsets to protecting and renting devices. Renov joins Pitzi alongside Leapfone, its used-smartphone rental unit.

Why now? Renov's volume of acquired devices grew 320% in the first half of 2026 versus the same period in 2025. The group targets 40% revenue growth in 2027 as it expands its device rental business.

"The union between Pitzi and Renov creates an ecosystem that follows the entire journey of the smartphone, from trading in the used device to protecting and renting it," said Felipe Mendes, chief executive officer of Grupo Pitzi.

The signal: The deal targets a large Brazilian market of roughly 257 million active smartphones, plus about 40 million new and 40 million used handsets sold each year. By bundling trade-in, protection, and rental, Pitzi is betting that recurring services tied to each device's lifecycle will deepen its hold on retail partners.
