What each side brings: Founded in 2008, Axel Health builds patient flow management software used across Finland and Sweden, including a patient self-service platform, an automated scheduling tool, and a system for coordinating transfers between healthcare units. Legrand, listed on Euronext Paris, runs the deal through its Legrand Care division, which develops connected healthcare and assisted living products for home, residential, and hospital settings.
What's the endgame? The acquisition gives Axel Health the backing of a large, listed strategic buyer with a global healthcare platform to fund further growth. For Legrand Care, it extends a build-out of connected health solutions that already includes the Netherlands-based Enovation and Performation.
Why now? Standout Capital had backed Axel Health since 2019, supporting its expansion, including a 2024 acquisition of Unitary Healthcare. The sale marks a full exit for the firm.

"Working with MCF Corporate Finance was a game-changer for us," said Axel Health chief executive officer Ilari Laaksonen, adding the firm handled "the heavy lifting of the sale process" so management could stay focused on day-to-day operations.
