Plug and Play backs Cambodia's konektAgri in agri-finance push

What's the deal? Plug and Play has invested in konektAgriDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Cambodian startup building credit tools for agriculture. It becomes the second Cambodian company funded through the Innovate Cambodia Accelerator Programme, following BamnangDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

What does it do? konektAgri has built agriKredit, a credit assessment and risk management platform for the agricultural sector. It combines financial and agricultural data — satellite imagery, weather information, farmland location, and electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification — to help lenders make faster, more accurate decisions.

Why now? The deal, announced on 19 June 2026, follows the startup's run through the accelerator, which aims to draw international capital into Cambodia's digital ecosystem. Plug and Play backing signals growing outside interest in the Kingdom's startups.

What's the endgame? Nithyasri Manikandan, senior investment manager at Plug and Play, said konektAgri is building the "data infrastructure and risk assessment capabilities" needed to meet agricultural finance demands in emerging markets.

The signal: Agricultural lending in emerging markets often stalls on thin credit data. By fusing satellite and farm data with e-KYC, konektAgri targets that gap — and its backing marks steady progress for Cambodia's young startup scene.
