Grab backs Vietnam's EBOOST to grow 2,500-point EV charging network
What's the deal? Grab has made a strategic early-stage investment in EBOOSTDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) charging platform, the companies announced in July 2026. Grab led the round; terms were not disclosed. EBOOST operates more than 2,500 charging points and serves over 10,000 EV users across Vietnam.
Why now? The investment builds on a memorandum of understanding the two companies signed in November 2025. Since April 2026, EBOOST's network has been integrated into the EV Charging feature in the Grab Driver app, letting GrabCar drivers find stations, start sessions, and pay in one place.
What's the endgame? EBOOST will use Grab's backing to expand its charging network across Vietnam. The next phase extends the service to electric motorbike drivers, adding thousands more charging points.
Early results point to demand. More than 70% of driver-partners keep using the service within their first seven days, according to the companies.
What's in it for Grab? The deal gives Grab's drivers cheaper, more convenient charging as it pushes electric mobility adoption. For EBOOST, it opens access to Grab's large user base and lifts charger utilisation and recurring revenue.
The signal: Grab's move is a bet on Vietnam's fast-growing electric mobility market, where ride-hailing and charging infrastructure are converging. By tying its driver network to a homegrown charging platform, Grab is positioning itself at the centre of the country's shift to electric transport.
