Sinumy raises seed round to bring hands-free authentication to train gates

What's the deal? Osaka-based SinumyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has secured a seed investment from the Osaka Social Issues Solution No.2 Fund, backing its Bluetooth-powered hands-free authentication platform. The fund, run by Miraidoor in partnership with Osaka Shinkin BankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, announced the deal in July 2026.

What's the endgame? Sinumy, founded in 2018, wants to automate authentication in physical spaces. Its technology combines fast, precise location tracking with secure identity verification, letting users pass through checkpoints without taking a smartphone out of a bag or pocket.

Why now? The company is in talks with several railway operators about deploying the system at ticket gates. In March 2026, it ran a trial at a live Tokyo Metro station gate.

What's the fund for? The Osaka Social Issues Solution No.2 Fund succeeds a 2017 vehicle set up to back businesses solving regional and social problems in Osaka Prefecture. It works with the Japan Finance Corporation, Osaka Prefecture, and the Osaka Industrial Local Government Public Corporation to support companies through coordinated financing and business tools.

The signal: Sinumy positions its work as a step toward a more seamless, barrier-free society. The involvement of public bodies and a regional bank signals growing interest in authentication technology as infrastructure — not just a consumer convenience.
