Project Q raises €15M Series A for defence-tech Internet of Defence platform
German defence-tech startup Project Q has raised a €15M Series A, roughly 11 months after closing its €7.5M seed round in July 2025. Founded in 2024 by Leonard Wessendorff and Frank Christian Sprengel, the Munich- and Berlin-based company builds interoperable, real-time intelligence systems for the defence and security sector under an "Internet of Defence" approach.
Its core product, the Q-Open Source Platform (Q-OSP), acts as an integration layer that connects existing and new sensors, complementary technologies and data sources with AI across domains, aiming to give armed forces and security agencies a unified real-time picture of the operational situation.
The raise underscores continued investor appetite for European defence and dual-use technology amid heightened geopolitical demand for sovereign capabilities. Project Q's earlier seed round was led by Project A, with participation from Expeditions Fund and Superangel; the company has said it is working with European armed forces and security authorities on pilot projects.
