What's the endgame? Founded by Ananya, Aryaman, and Naman under ZKAP Edtech Service Pvt Ltd, Sortmyprep is building a vertical AI platform for school exam preparation. Its flagship product, Sorty, is a curriculum-aligned conversational AI tutor offering personalised learning, adaptive study plans, and 24x7 doubt resolution.

Where's the money going? The startup will use the capital to strengthen its AI infrastructure, expand curriculum coverage, and grow across India and international markets. It currently serves students in more than 15 countries and holds a proprietary dataset of over one million human-generated learning data points.

Why it matters: Sortmyprep says 71% of its users came through referrals and word-of-mouth, with no paid marketing spend. "Building strong organic adoption without relying on paid acquisition reflects both product quality and market demand," said Mehta.

What's next? The company focuses on international curricula such as IB and IGCSE, and plans to expand into CBSE, ICSE, and other major boards. It previously received backing from PIEDS, the BITS Pilani startup incubator, and works with Nvidia, Google for Startups, OpenAI, and Ashoka University.

The signal: Sortmyprep's raise shows investor appetite for vertical AI tutors that pair automation with an expert-in-the-loop model — betting that curriculum-specific accuracy, not general chatbots, wins in edtech.
