Ledgnd raises growth capital to scale greenhouse data platform
What's the deal? Dutch horticulture startup Ledgnd has raised growth equity to accelerate development of MyLedgndDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, its data platform for greenhouse growers. Value Factory VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → joins as a new investor, alongside several angel investors.
What's the endgame? MyLedgnd pulls data from climate computers, sensors, and plant feedback systems into one environment, helping growers make faster decisions on climate control, irrigation, energy use, and lighting.
Why it matters: "Growers already have access to a wealth of data, but that information is often scattered across different systems," says Matthea Rijneker, chief executive officer of Ledgnd. The platform aims to translate that data into practical cultivation decisions, cutting crop losses and energy use.
Ledgnd was founded in 2019 as a consultancy focused on LED lighting and greenhouse strategy. It has since shifted to a data-driven model combining integrated data, recommendations, and guidance from plant physiologists.
Where the money goes: Ledgnd plans to strengthen the platform's technology, expand its team, and improve the user experience. It also sees opportunities in AI and smart data analysis to spot patterns faster.
The investor view: Rotterdam-based Value Factory Ventures backs startups in agritech, food, and climate. "Ledgnd combines deep expertise in plant physiology and data with strong technology capabilities," says Jacco Zuijdweg of Value Factory. "The platform addresses a clear market need."
The signal: As greenhouse operations generate more data from more systems, the value is shifting from collecting it to interpreting it. Ledgnd's raise reflects investor appetite for scalable agritech that turns fragmented data into decisions.
