York buys satcom firm ALL.SPACE for $300M to arm unmanned fleets
What's the deal? York Space Systems (NYSE: YSS) has completed its acquisition of ALL.SPACE for roughly $300 million, comprising about $155 million in cash and 5.9 million shares of York common stock. ALL.SPACE, a maker of advanced satellite communications terminals, now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the US defense and commercial prime.
What's the endgame? York wants to build a tactical ecosystem for assured communications and positioning across space, land, air, and maritime domains. The deal pairs ALL.SPACE's jam-resistant, multi-link terminals with York's space infrastructure and mission operations to keep unmanned systems connected as they scale.
Why now? In current conflicts, radio frequency communications, including high-bandwidth commercial satellite networks, have been jammed so effectively that forces turned to fiber optic lines to stay connected.
