Founded in 2020 by former members of Dutch intelligence agencies AIVD and MIVD, the company now protects more than 1,000 organisations across the Benelux and DACH regions.
Why now? European firms face escalating threats, tighter regulation, and pressure to cut digital dependencies on foreign providers.
AI is accelerating attacks — phishing emails can now be generated in seconds. Germany, one of Europe's biggest economies, has become a prime target.
The funding will expand Eye Security's engineering, threat intelligence, and customer operations teams, with a focus on Germany and new European markets.
"Cybersecurity is entering a new era. AI accelerates both the threats companies face and the speed at which they must respond," said founder and chief executive officer Job Kuijpers.
What could go wrong? Eye Security pairs managed detection, incident response, and threat intelligence with its own cyber insurance — a model that ties technical and financial risk together.
As AI-driven attacks rise, traditional insurers are pulling back, leaving Eye Security exposed if claims outpace its defences.
The signal: Now at breakout stage, Eye Security has won renewed backing from heavyweight investors including J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners, with new lead Sofina pushing it deeper into Germany. The continued support signals confidence in Eye Security's bet that European buyers will pay for sovereign cybersecurity that bundles managed detection with its own cyber insurance.
