Soource closes €3M seed round led by Vertis to scale its AI procurement data platform
Soource, an Italian startup that uses AI to clean up and automate procurement data, has closed a $3M seed round. The raise was led by Vertis through its "Vertis Venture 5 Scaleup" fund, with participation from Swiss VC Tenity, 360 Capital, and Club degli Investitori.
Founded in 2024 in Bolzano by former Olympic diver Maicol Verzotto alongside Nazareno Mario Ciccarello , Silvia Chiarot , Serena Galli, and Luca Taddeo, Soource has now raised more than €5M in total since 2025. The company will use the fresh capital to strengthen its position in Italy and expand across Europe.
Enterprise AI is booming, but it only delivers reliable results when it works on clean, complete data. In procurement, supplier information is often fragmented, incomplete, or unverified — a problem that gets worse as companies scale.
Soource built a proprietary international database of verified supplier data and layered multiple specialised AI agents on top. Each agent handles a distinct procurement task: discovering suppliers, qualifying them, comparing options, outreach, and data enrichment. The pitch is a shift from AI as "copilot" — where humans still do most of the work — to "autopilot," where routine tasks run automatically with verified data at the core.
Just over a year after launching, the platform is already used by major groups in utilities, pharma, energy, insurance, food, industrial, and construction sectors — making it one of the fastest-growing enterprise AI solutions in Italy, according to the company.
Procurement software is a crowded market, and Soource faces competition from established players with deeper pockets and broader customer bases. Expanding across European markets means navigating different regulatory frameworks and procurement cultures. The startup's 17-person team plans to double by end of 2027, which brings execution risk around hiring and scaling.
Soource's seed round reflects growing investor appetite for vertical AI tools tackling unglamorous but high-value enterprise workflows. With 360 Capital — which led its previous round in January 2025 — returning alongside new backers Vertis and Tenity, the syndicate suggests confidence that procurement data intelligence is a category worth doubling down on as European enterprises race to make their AI deployments actually reliable.
