The round brings Semble's total funding to roughly £57M — nearly doubling its capitalisation since its £11.5M Series B closed in October 2024.

Founded in 2016 by Christoph Lippuner and Mikael Landau, Semble consolidates scheduling, billing, clinical records, prescriptions, and patient communications into a single platform. It integrates with more than 1,200 external tools including diagnostics, labs, and CRM systems.

The company now serves 1,700 healthcare businesses across 80 specialities, used daily by 16,000 professionals. One in six people in the UK has received care from a clinician using Semble's platform. Why now? Private healthcare in the UK is growing fast as NHS waiting lists remain stubbornly long, pushing more patients into the private outpatient sector. The British Medical Association has estimated that doctors in England lose 13.5 million working hours a year to inadequate IT systems — a problem that worsens as volume increases.

Semble sits directly in the path of that shift, providing operating infrastructure for providers scaling quickly without rebuilding their tech stacks. France, Semble's first international market, has already demonstrated regulatory maturity in less than a year, lending credibility to a broader European expansion plan.

"The practices and groups that win over the next decade will be the ones that deliver the best patient experience end-to-end," said Lippuner.

What could go wrong? Expanding across European markets means navigating different regulatory frameworks, reimbursement systems, and clinical workflows country by country. Semble must prove its UK playbook transfers — France is a promising start, but each new market adds complexity. The company has also grown headcount by more than 50% since December 2024, and managing that pace of hiring while maintaining product quality is a perennial scaling risk.

The signal: Semble's rapid leap from a £11.5M Series B in October 2024 to a £30M Series C barely seven months later — nearly doubling its total capitalisation to £57M — underscores how aggressively investors are backing consolidation plays in fragmented healthtech markets. The round's composition is telling: lead investor Revaia and new backer Partech both bring deep European networks, suggesting the capital is as much a bet on cross-border expansion as on the UK private care boom itself.
