Newcore Gold raises C$10M to fund Ghana exploration

What's the deal? Newcore Gold, a Vancouver-based junior miner listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, has secured a C$10M bought deal financing led by Haywood Securities. The company will issue 18.87 million common shares at C$0.53 each.

The underwriters also have an option to upsize the offering by up to 2.83 million additional shares, which could bring total gross proceeds to roughly C$11.5M.

Why now? Newcore plans to use the proceeds to fund exploration and development at its Enchi Gold Project in Ghana, along with general corporate and working capital needs. The deal is expected to close on or about May 28, 2026.

What could go wrong? Closing remains subject to customary conditions, including conditional approval from the TSX Venture Exchange and applicable securities regulators. As a junior explorer, Newcore's Enchi project is still pre-production — meaning there's no guarantee the capital deployed will translate into economic gold deposits.

The signal: Bought deal financings signal underwriter confidence that investor appetite exists at a set price. For a junior gold miner to lock in C$10M on these terms suggests continued market interest in early-stage gold exploration, particularly in West Africa's established mining jurisdictions like Ghana.
