Vienna's Constrct lands mid-six-figure grant to digitise construction procurement

What's the deal? Constrct, a Vienna-based startup digitising construction material procurement, has secured a mid-six-figure grant from Austria's aws Seedfinancing — Innovative Solutions programme. The company plans to use the funds to accelerate product development and expand its market presence.

Constrct's platform covers the entire procurement workflow — from purchase requests to delivery — without requiring complex ERP integrations. It structures fragmented supply chain processes and captures project-level product, performance, and emissions data in a standalone system.

"With this funding, we can significantly accelerate the next development steps and bring our solution to market in a more targeted way," said co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Ramel.

Why now? The construction industry remains one of the least digitised sectors in Europe, with procurement still largely handled through spreadsheets, phone calls, and paper trails. Constrct is building a mobile app — expected in the coming months — to let workers manage procurement directly on building sites.

The startup already attracted investment from Rhomberg VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and WU Ignite Ventures in October 2025, giving it early traction ahead of this public grant.

What could go wrong? Construction firms are notoriously slow to adopt new software, and Constrct will need to prove that its tool fits seamlessly into existing workflows. Competing against entrenched habits — and eventual competition from larger procurement platforms — will be the real test.

The signal: Constrct's backing by Rhomberg Ventures — an investment fund linked to one of Austria's established construction groups — underscores that industry insiders see real demand for dedicated procurement digitisation tools. Classified as "early growth" on Dealroom, the startup's trajectory from strategic venture backing to public grant funding in quick succession suggests it is building credibility in a sector where trust from incumbents matters more than speed to market.
