ASML spinout Invisix raises €20M seed for chip quality control
The signal: Veldhoven-based Invisix Measuring Systems , a 2025 spinout from Dutch semiconductor equipment giant ASML , has emerged from stealth with a €20M seed round — an unusually large opening cheque that signals investor appetite for European deeptech tied to the chip supply chain.
The round: The seed was led by London-based Transition Ventures and Hitachi Ventures, the corporate VC arm of Japanese conglomerate Hitachi. Both backers are deeptech-focused funds with semiconductor and hardware exposure.
What Invisix does: The company builds measurement and inspection equipment — and accompanying software — for industrial use, with a stated focus on quality control for advanced chips. Better in-line metrology helps fabs catch defects earlier and push performance higher, a chronic pain point as nodes shrink toward sub-2nm.
Why it matters: Invisix sits in the same Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem that produced ASML, NXP and a long tail of high-precision suppliers. The deal lands as Europe doubles down on semiconductor sovereignty under the Chips Act, with EU money and corporate VCs increasingly chasing the picks-and-shovels layer of the AI hardware boom.
