Bold Security emerges from stealth with $40M to rethink endpoint protection for the AI era

What's the deal? Bold Security has emerged from stealth with a $40 million funding round backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Picture CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Red Dot Capital PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The Israeli cyber startup is building AI-powered endpoint security designed for a world where AI tools run directly on user devices.

Rather than routing data to the cloud for analysis, Bold runs AI models on the device itself — turning laptops and workstations into active security agents that detect risky behaviour in real time. Early enterprise customers including ShutterflyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Tekion have reduced security alert volumes by up to 90%.

Why now? The rise of AI copilots and autonomous tools has created a new class of endpoint risk that traditional security software was not built to handle. As AI agents access sensitive data directly on user devices, the gap between what is happening on the endpoint and what security teams can see has widened significantly.

Bold's CEO Nati HazutDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is no stranger to the problem. He previously founded SAM, whose technology protects over 500 million connected devices for telecoms including Verizon and Virgin Media, and Polyrize, a data security startup acquired by Varonis. This is his third company at 35.

What could go wrong? Endpoint security is one of the most competitive segments in cybersecurity, dominated by well-capitalised incumbents including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Defender. Convincing enterprise security teams to add a new vendor — let alone replace an existing one — is a long and expensive sales cycle.

Running AI models directly on devices also raises practical challenges around performance, battery life, and hardware compatibility across large enterprise fleets. Bold will need to prove its approach scales without creating new friction for the users it is meant to protect.

The signal: Bold is part of a broader shift in security architecture — away from cloud-centralised monitoring and toward intelligence that lives at the edge, closer to where work actually happens. As AI tools proliferate on enterprise devices, the endpoint is becoming the primary battleground for data security.

The $40 million raise and early Fortune 500 traction suggest investors believe the timing is right: the problem is new enough that incumbents have not yet solved it, but urgent enough that buyers are actively looking for answers.
