Geely’s Geespace Secures $281M to Expand IoT Satellite Constellation
In September 2025, Geespace secured a capital commitment of US$281 million for its IoT constellation and a global headquarters project in Hangzhou. The funding supports its efforts to scale satellite deployments, build ground infrastructure, and establish a command center for its operations.
Geespace is the aerospace and satellite infrastructure arm of GeelyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (Zhejiang Geely Holding Group), founded in 2018. It focuses on building, launching, and operating low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations aimed at providing connectivity, precise positioning, and IoT services globally.
As part of Geely’s broader push to integrate mobility with space-based services, Geespace is developing its GEESATCOM network, which is being rolled out in phases. In 2025, it launched another 11 satellites, raising its in-orbit count to 41. These additions expand its footprint for IoT communications and reinforce its ambition to reach full constellation scale by the end of the year.
Geespace serves as both a technology developer and infrastructure operator. It designs modular satellite platforms, handles satellite manufacturing, and runs ground systems. Its offerings include high-precision positioning, connectivity services, and satellite-based AI cloud support—a suite intended to bridge space and terrestrial networks.
Operating under the Geely Technology Group banner, Geespace leverages the parent company’s ambitions in mobility, connectivity, and smart systems to drive its space-based vision.
