The company's business model combines medical device innovation with a direct-to-patient digital clinic. In a significant expansion of its service offerings, Sunrise acquired Dreem Health in 2024. This strategic move integrated a California-based telemedicine platform into its operations, allowing Sunrise to provide an end-to-end service that includes screening, diagnosis, and treatment for a full spectrum of sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea and insomnia. The acquisition also brought Dreem Health's network of partnerships with major US insurers like Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Medicare, making care more accessible and affordable for a large patient population.

Through the Dreem Health platform, patients can have virtual consultations with licensed sleep specialists, receive a diagnosis using the Sunrise sensor, and get a personalized treatment plan, which may include options like positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy or oral appliances, all from home. The company has secured over $58 million in total funding from investors including Amazon's Alexa Fund, Eurazeo, and Kurma Partners to fuel its US expansion and further invest in its sleep technology. By combining its proprietary diagnostic hardware with a telehealth care delivery model, Sunrise aims to address the significant gap in sleep medicine, where there is an estimated one specialist for every 43,000 patients in the US.
