moveUP

moveUP is a Belgian digital health company founded in 2015 that provides data-driven, personalized remote care. The initial idea came from a conversation between orthopedic surgeon Philippe Van Overschelde and his co-founders, software engineer Ward Servaes and data engineer Charles-Eric Winandy, who recognized that digital technology could solve the lack of patient contact between consultations. Pierre-Yves Druenne and Bob Moens also joined as co-founders.

The company develops digital therapy applications that support a patient's care journey, primarily before and after orthopedic and bariatric surgeries. moveUP partners with hospitals, surgeons, life sciences organizations, and pharmaceutical companies, generating revenue through its digital solutions that enhance treatment adherence and operational efficiency. Notably, it was the first digital health app to secure reimbursement in Belgium. In March 2025, moveUP announced the acquisition of Deep Structure.ai, a U.S.-based company specializing in AI-driven surgery planning and rehabilitation. This acquisition is set to integrate advanced AI capabilities for patient screening, surgical decision support, and workflow automation, strengthening moveUP's presence in the U.S. market.
