Squelch
Customer experience optimization solution that delivers relevant and context-rich intelligence to agents
About Squelch
Squelch, Inc. operated as a real-time customer experience optimization solution provider, targeting the post-sale customer support and success teams of enterprises. The company was founded by Jayaram Bhat, a seasoned software industry executive who served as CEO, along with Giorgina Gottlieb, the Vice President of Marketing, and Ilan Raab, who was the VP of Engineering. Bhat's extensive 35-year career in high-tech, including a CEO role at Zenprise which was acquired by Citrix, shaped the company's focus on resolving critical gaps in the customer experience architecture.
Launched from stealth in May 2018, Squelch secured an initial $8 million in Series A funding from Shasta Ventures and Correlation Ventures. The company's core business revolved around a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to empower customer-facing agents. This platform addressed the challenge of data silos by aggregating information from disparate sources such as Salesforce, Slack, Box, Confluence, and Jira. By creating a unified and searchable index, the tool provided agents with relevant, up-to-date intelligence at the moment of customer interaction, aiming to improve resolution speed and accuracy. The business model was based on selling its SaaS product to Fortune 5000 and other fast-growing businesses.
The platform's key feature was its ability to query disjointed data sets and present pertinent information in three clicks or less, directly within the agent's existing dashboard. It utilized machine learning and artificial intelligence to auto-identify topics and learn what information was most critical within an organization over time. This allowed for the delivery of actionable insights, analytics, and reports for management, connecting customer experience operations to bottom-line results. In April 2019, Squelch announced an additional $12 million in funding, with Tenaya Capital joining existing investors, to expand its sales and marketing efforts. The company was later acquired, and as of March 2021, is listed as out of business.
