SolarSquare is an Indian company specializing in rooftop solar installations for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Founded in 2015 by Shreya Mishra, Neeraj Jain, and Nikhil Nahar, the company initially focused on the business-to-business (B2B) market, installing solar systems for large corporations. In 2020, with Mishra joining as CEO, the company pivoted to include the residential (B2C) market, identifying a significant opportunity in a fragmented space lacking trustworthy service providers.

The founders brought diverse and relevant experience to the venture. Shreya Mishra, an IIT Bombay graduate, previously co-founded the fashion rental platform Flyrobe and worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Everstone Capital, bringing expertise in scaling businesses and strategy. Neeraj Jain and Nikhil Nahar had already established the company as a B2B solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) provider, building a foundation in high-quality system design and installation.

SolarSquare operates on a full-stack, direct-to-consumer business model, managing the entire customer journey in-house to ensure quality and service. This includes initial design, securing government permits, installation, facilitating financing, and post-sales maintenance, eliminating middlemen. The company serves homeowners, housing societies, and businesses, with clients including notable brands like Swiggy, D'Decor, and Force Motors. Revenue is generated through the sale and installation of solar systems (CapEx model) and comprehensive maintenance packages. To make solar energy more accessible, SolarSquare offers various financing options, including zero-cost EMIs and loans, with plans that offset the down payment with government subsidies and monthly installments with energy savings.

A key part of their offering is the 'GoodZero' package, which includes five years of after-sales service and a guaranteed savings promise, compensating customers for any shortfall in energy production. The company emphasizes safety and durability, using proprietary cyclone-proof mounting structures approved by IIT Bombay. As of late 2025, SolarSquare had surpassed 250 MW in total installed capacity, with 100 MW from over 25,000 homes and 240 housing societies, and 150 MW from commercial and industrial projects. The company has raised a total of $61.1 million in funding, including a significant $40 million Series B round in December 2024 led by Lightspeed. These funds are allocated for expansion from 20 to over 50 cities, technology development for remote asset monitoring, and talent acquisition.
