About Rainbow Crops

Rainbow Crops is a Belgian agritech spin-off of VIB that builds Trait Foundry, an end-to-end platform combining AI, multiplex genome editing, precision breeding and automated phenotyping to engineer complex crop traits such as yield and stress resilience. Proof-of-concept work has focused on corn with expansion planned to other crops, serving agricultural producers and partners seeking more resilient varieties. In June 2026 Rainbow Crops raised an oversubscribed €9.7 million (~$11.25 million) Seed led by LIFTT and LIFTT EuroInvest, with AIF, PINC, VIB, Corteva Catalyst and Maia Ventures participating, to scale the Trait Foundry platform.
