About Quantum Circuits

Quantum Circuits, Inc. (QCI) was founded in 2015 by Yale applied-physics researchers, among them Robert Schoelkopf and Michel Devoret. The company develops gate-model superconducting quantum computers built on dual-rail cavity qubits with built-in erasure-error detection, an approach aimed at hardware-efficient error correction. It offered its Aqumen Seeker system through cloud access and worked with NVIDIA on evaluating error correction using Grace Hopper Superchips. D-Wave Quantum announced its acquisition of QCI on 7 January 2026 for $550M, comprising $300M in stock and $250M in cash, and completed the deal on 20 January 2026. QCI now operates as a D-Wave subsidiary and anchors its gate-model roadmap.
