Neara is a Sydney-based software company providing a physics-enabled digital twin platform for critical infrastructure. Originally founded as Power Lines Pro in 2016 by Daniel Danilatos, the company was inspired when Danilatos developed a web-based CAD tool for his wife, who needed a better solution for power line design. This project evolved into Neara, with Karamvir Singh and Jack Curtis joining Danilatos as co-founders. The company rebranded from Power Lines Pro to Neara in 2020.

The company's core offering is a SaaS platform that creates a geometrically precise, 3D model of entire infrastructure networks, such as electricity grids, transportation, and telecommunications systems. By integrating disparate data sources like GIS records, LiDAR imagery, and engineering specifications, Neara builds a dynamic, engineering-grade digital twin. Neara operates on a business-to-business (B2B) model, serving a global client base that includes major utilities like Southern California Edison, CenterPoint Energy, and ESB Networks. Its technology helps clients improve grid reliability, accelerate the integration of renewable energy, and manage vegetation. The platform has been shown to help users identify risks up to 9x faster and restore power 3x faster after outages. The company has modeled over 15 million assets across more than 3 million kilometers of infrastructure.

Neara has achieved significant financial milestones, becoming a unicorn with a valuation of A$1.1 billion. It has raised approximately $180 million in total funding through several rounds, including a $31 million Series C in October 2024 and a $90 million Series D in February 2026. Key investors include TCV, EQT, Partners Group, Square Peg Capital, and Prosus Ventures. The funding is being used to expand its AI and machine learning teams, accelerate its international footprint in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, and extend its platform's capabilities into other sectors like telecommunications and public transportation.
