About Mobilint

Mobilint is a South Korean fabless semiconductor company that develops high-performance, low-power Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for edge AI applications. The company was founded in April 2019 by CEO and CTO Dongjoo Shin, who has been researching AI-specific integrated circuits since 2013. He is joined by co-founders Jeongseung Lee, Chief Algorithm Engineer, and Dr. Jongjun Park, Chief Compiler Engineer.

The firm's core business revolves around the vertical integration of co-optimized algorithms, software, and hardware to deliver accelerated AI chip solutions. This approach is designed to provide clients with performance, programmability, and end-to-end acceleration for integrated semiconductor services. Mobilint's business model focuses on creating versatile and cost-effective alternatives to traditional GPUs for AI processing at the edge, targeting sectors like smart factories, robotics, drones, intelligent surveillance, and smart cities. The company provides a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK) to facilitate easier adoption and development for its clients.

Mobilint has developed two main product lines: 'ARIES' and 'REGULUS'. ARIES is a high-performance AI accelerator chip designed for on-premise AI and edge server applications. REGULUS is a system-on-chip (SoC) specifically engineered for on-device AI, integrating a CPU, codec, and ISP, making it suitable for devices like robots, drones, and AI cameras. The company has gained recognition for its technology, winning CES Innovation Awards in both 2025 and 2026 for REGULUS and its ARIES-based edge AI box, MLX-A1, respectively. Notably, Mobilint is the only company in South Korea with the demonstrated capability to run large language models (LLMs) on NPU hardware in an edge environment.

Since its establishment, Mobilint has secured significant funding to fuel its growth. After an initial seed round in 2019, the company raised a Series B round in 2024 and a substantial $46.4 million Series C round in April 2026, with investors including Praxis Capital Partners and POSCO INVESTMENT. This funding is aimed at advancing next-generation NPU architecture, scaling production, and expanding its international footprint. Mobilint has also forged strategic partnerships, such as a memorandum of understanding with POSCO DX to jointly develop NPU-based industrial AI solutions for manufacturing, robotics, and logistics.
