West Lake Robotics Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. is an intelligent robot technology company developing legged robots with general behavioral intelligence. Founded on June 8, 2021, by Dr. Wang Donglin's research team, the company originated as a high-quality achievement transformation project from Westlake University in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics. Dr. Wang has over 20 years of academic research and project development experience in AI and signal processing, holding degrees from Xi'an Jiaotong University and a Ph.D. from the University of Calgary.

The company's core focus is on enhancing the behavioral intelligence of robots by integrating deep reinforcement learning, deep meta-learning, and robotics. This approach is based on theoretical research from the Machine Intelligence Laboratory (MiLAB) at West Lake University. In March 2026, West Lake Robotics launched its humanoid robot, the Titan o1. The Titan o1 is empowered by the company's proprietary General Action Expert (GAE) large model, which functions as the robot's "general-purpose cerebellum." This allows the robot to imitate human movements in real-time with a high degree of synchronization, adapting to different operators and spontaneous actions without prior programming. The GAE model also features cross-embodiment capability, enabling its deployment across a range of robots with different structures and sizes.

West Lake Robotics is developing both bipedal and quadrupedal robots and is nearing mass production for several platforms. Its robots are designed for multi-terrain adaptive walking, stair climbing, and self-recovery from falls. The company provides modular precision robotic and motion control systems, including actuators and components, to equipment manufacturers and automation integrators. Their offerings are intended for wide application across several sectors, including education and scientific research; vertical industries like power, construction, and animal husbandry; and service scenarios such as shopping malls, airports, and households. The company has secured strategic cooperation agreements with major groups to accelerate the deployment of its technology. After raising nearly $13.6 million in an Angel+ funding round in early 2025, West Lake Robotics planned to begin deploying machines in various industries in the first half of that year.
