The company offered a range of meals designed by nutritionists and prepared by chefs, all free of gluten, dairy, soy, and artificial sweeteners. The UK-based company was founded in Manchester in 2016 by Carley Jones, a former call centre owner and fitness enthusiast. She identified a market need for healthy post-gym food options. The UK business saw rapid initial growth, reaching a turnover of over £1.5 million in its first year and expanding to multiple locations. However, the company expanded too quickly, acquiring a struggling supplier and opening new stores that cannibalized sales from existing ones. These financial pressures led to the company entering liquidation in February 2019. Following the liquidation, the UK brand and some assets were purchased by new owners, and founder Carley Jones was no longer involved. Jones subsequently launched a new, separate brand called Hustle & Heart.

Separately, a US-based company, legally named High Quality Nutrition Company LLC and also operating as Kettlebell Kitchen, was founded in 2013 by brothers Andy and Joe Lopez-Gallego, along with chef Greg Grossman. This entity focused on a similar meal delivery model, partnering with gyms for distribution and also delivering directly to homes nationwide. In October 2018, it announced a significant $26.7 million Series B funding round led by North Castle Partners to fuel its growth. Despite this investment, the US company abruptly ceased operations in November 2019 and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, citing over $4.3 million in debt.
