About Indiegogo
Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding and pre-order platform where creators, entrepreneurs and early-stage product makers raise money from the public to launch new projects. Campaigns span technology and hardware, design, tabletop and video games, film, music and creative work.
Creators publish a campaign page with a funding goal and offer rewards, usually early versions of the product, to backers who pledge. After a campaign closes, creators can keep collecting late pledges and pre-orders on Indiegogo, so the campaign becomes an ongoing sales channel. Backers are consumers and early adopters looking for new products before they reach retail.
Indiegogo earns a platform fee on the funds each campaign collects, and payment processing fees are charged on contributions. The platform also gives creators tools for running, promoting and managing their campaigns.
Indiegogo is owned by Gamefound, the Poland-based crowdfunding platform. The two sites operate separately, with Indiegogo running on Gamefound's technology.
