About Ascendance

Ascendance is a Toulouse-based aerospace company founded in 2018 by Jean-Christophe Lambert, Thibault Baldivia, Clément Dinel and Benoît Ferran, all former members of Airbus’s E-Fan team. The company develops STERNA, a modular hybrid-electric propulsion system combining batteries, energy management and electrical distribution, and ATEA, a vertical-take-off-and-landing aircraft designed for regional passenger, cargo, medical and security missions. Its hybrid approach targets lower emissions while preserving the range and operational resilience needed in civil and defence aviation. In April 2026 Ascendance announced a €12.2 million France 2030 Première Usine investment to move STERNA from prototype development toward series production in France; the company reports more than €60 million raised overall.
