Imutex Limited, established in 2016, is a joint venture between SEEK Group and hVIVO, part of Open Orphan plc. The company focuses on accelerating the development of vaccines for broad-spectrum influenza (FLU v) and mosquito-borne diseases (AGS v). Imutex collaborates with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to expedite these developments, addressing key public health priorities identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States.

Imutex's FLU v vaccine aims to provide a universal solution for influenza, potentially reducing the need for annual flu shots by targeting multiple strains of the virus. The AGS v vaccine, on the other hand, employs a novel dual-action mechanism. It not only prevents infection in humans by creating an anti-saliva immune response but also helps control mosquito populations. This is achieved through antibodies from vaccinated humans attacking the mosquito's gut after a bite, thereby reducing the mosquito's ability to transmit diseases.

Imutex operates in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets, primarily serving public health organizations, research institutions, and healthcare providers.
