Sequoia's Konstantine Buhler says the firm incubated Nuvacore, an agentic-AI CPU startup from the team behind Apple Silicon and Snapdragon

Sequoia partner Konstantine Buhler said the firm concluded that after memory, CPUs would be an enduring AI-compute constraint, approached the former Apple Silicon and Qualcomm Snapdragon team right after they left Qualcomm, and incubated Nuvacore about eight months ago to build an agentic-AI CPU, as data centres move from about one CPU per 30 GPUs to a much higher ratio. Nuvacore, founded by Gerard Williams, John Bruno and Ram Srinivasan (previously Nuvia, sold to Qualcomm for $1.4B), is reportedly raising at about a $2.5B valuation (Reuters). The post quotes Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan saying in September that CPU demand is so high Intel can supply only about half of what customers want.
