Starlink Dominates Orbit, Eyes $12B Revenue in 2025
Starlink, SpaceXDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →’s satellite internet service, has become a leading force in low Earth orbit. Since 2019, the company has launched over 8,400 satellites—about 40% of all satellites ever deployed. Of these, around 7,300 remain active, making up nearly two-thirds of satellites currently in operation.
This growth is driven by SpaceX’s vertically integrated approach, which combines satellite design, manufacturing, and frequent launches using reusable Falcon 9 rockets. The company now produces more than eight satellites daily.
Starlink’s financial performance is also scaling quickly. Revenue is projected to reach $11.8 billion in 2025, up from an estimated $7.7 billion in 2024. While consumer broadband remains central, enterprise and defense contracts—especially through its Starshield division—are becoming an increasingly important revenue stream.
With more than 5 million users across 125 countries, Starlink has become a key provider in remote and underserved regions. Though competitors like Amazon’s Project Kuiper are entering the market, Starlink’s infrastructure and pace of deployment provide a strong advantage.
As satellite connectivity grows in strategic importance, Starlink is playing a central role in shaping the future of the global space economy.
