Retym Comes Out of Stealth With $180M Total Funding
In March 2025, Retym, a U.S.-based semiconductor startup with Israeli origins, secured $75 million in a Series D funding round, bringing the company’s total funding to $180 million.
Retym has operated largely in stealth since 2021 until its recent funding announcement. The company is developing a programmable coherent digital signal processing (DSP) chip designed to improve the speed and efficiency of data center communications, both internally and externally.
Unlike companies such as Nvidia, Retym does not produce chips that process AI workloads directly. Instead, its technology aims to address growing data center demands driven by the rapid expansion of AI, which has increased the need for faster and more efficient data transfer.
Retym’s CTO and co-founder, Roni El-BaharDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, stated that the company was created to introduce competition into a DSP market historically dominated by a few large players, particularly Marvell TechnologyDealroom has a profile for this one. The company’s first chip is being manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 5-nanometer process and is currently undergoing testing.
