MyProtein founder launches Verve Nutrition

Oliver Cookson, the British entrepreneur behind MyProtein, launched the successful nutrition brand in 2004 with just £500 from an overdraft. After growing MyProtein into a multimillion-pound business, he sold it to The Hut Group in 2011 for £60 million. Cookson's journey started with a modest upbringing in a council flat, and his early struggles instilled a strong entrepreneurial drive. Despite lacking formal education, he taught himself web development and bootstrapped MyProtein, pioneering the online protein market.

Now, Cookson has launched Verve Nutrition, a supergreens business with a product that includes 80 active ingredients. With his experience in building a nutrition empire, Cookson aims to disrupt the supergreens industry by offering transparency and higher-quality ingredients, countering the current trend of "filler" products. Verve's flagship V80 blend is positioned as a premium offering in the health market.
