Shaklee buys Isagenix, set to end rival's MLM compensation plan

Isagenix was founded in 2002 by John Anderson, Jim Coover, and Kathy Coover, selling nutrition and personal-care products through independent associates. Shaklee, whose multilevel model dates to 1956, markets nutrition, beauty, and household goods, and has been led by chairman and chief executive Roger Barnett since 2004.
What could go wrong? Transition terms have not been published, and comments circulating after the call suggested top leaders may keep more of their income than lower-ranked associates. Deanna Falchook, a self-described Isagenix millionaire, said: "I'm not sure what that means to our pre-existing income and or teams."
The signal: The deal extends a consolidation trend among direct sellers, where firms increasingly survive by merging and absorbing rivals' products and distributors. Shaklee bought substantially all of Modere's business in 2025 — products, intellectual property, and manufacturing assets — and said it would welcome Modere's sales network, a clear precedent for the Isagenix move.
