Skyfri buys Minox 100% to build Nordic industrial-tech group

What's the deal? Oslo-based Skyfri Group has acquired 100% of fellow Norwegian firm Minox Technology and is combining the two into a single industrial-tech group. The purchase closed in September; the companies announced the merger in November. Terms were undisclosed.

What each side brings: Minox has four decades of industrial water- and gas-treatment and deoxygenation engineering, serving energy majors. Skyfri contributes monitoring and control software already used across more than 180 solar and battery assets.

What's the endgame? The logic is cross-selling: add Skyfri's digital monitoring and recurring service revenue to Minox's equipment and project business, while handing Skyfri a more established industrial customer base. The combined group targets US$12.1M in revenue by 2028 and over 30% data-related recurring revenue by 2029.

Why now? The deal follows Skyfri's reported US$6.16M fundraising, giving it capital to pursue consolidation.

What could go wrong? A Skyfri subsidiary entered bankruptcy proceedings late last year — a reminder that financial resilience matters as much as the technology. The revenue targets also hinge on cross-selling that has yet to materialise.

The signal: Unlike the much larger Nordic renewable-asset deals underway, this is a small industrial-services combination. Its significance will depend on whether recurring, data-driven revenue can turn hardware sales into something stickier.
