What's the endgame? Founded in 2021, Pepper Games focuses on mid-core action RPGs that pair a casual art style with deep gameplay. Its core slate includes a casual MMORPG under a publishing deal with Com2uS, plus two follow-up projects: Project K, an isometric action RPG, and Lost in a Fairytale, a PC survival action RPG.
The studio brings together veterans with 10 to 20 years of experience across planning, launching, and live servicing domestic titles such as Elsword and CookieRun: Tower of Adventures. Its art team is led by the former art director of that CookieRun title.
In their words: "Our goal is to create action RPGs that are easy to pick up and offer deep, long-lasting engagement," said chief executive officer Lee Jung-jin.
The signal: The round backs a studio-led development pipeline aimed at global audiences, following a busy stretch for Korean gaming deals — in October, Kakao Games and Krafton invested US$16.8M in AI-game startup AIZ Entertainment. Without a disclosed sum or milestone detail, though, the financial weight of Pepper's raise is hard to gauge.
