LionGo raises $30M Series B extension for solid-state electrolytes

What's the deal? China's LionGo New Energy has raised nearly US$27.5M in a Series B extension to fund solid-state battery electrolyte production. The round drew Sinochem New Material Fund, Xinjian Future, Huacheng Venture CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Liyang Strategic Emerging Fund, Changzhou New Energy Industry Fund, and Nantong Venture Capital.

What's the endgame? LionGo makes electrolyte materials for solid-state and hybrid batteries. Its Liyang base has begun 10,000-tonne oxide solid electrolyte production, and construction has started on a 1,000-tonne full solid-state electrolyte line at its Suining site.

Why now? The raise follows a Series B of more than US$27.5M in November 2025, earmarked for commercialising full solid-state battery electrolytes. LionGo is pursuing multiple technology routes and sites to speed up commercialisation of its core materials.

What could go wrong? Capacity announcements are not the same as commercial delivery. The key tests are whether the new lines ramp on schedule and whether LionGo can secure steady orders from battery customers.

The signal: Solid-state material firms are racing to build pilot and mass-production lines, but leading battery makers still target small-scale output around 2027 and scale-up near 2030. That timeline suggests recent funding is a bet on positioning the supply chain early, rather than a sign the market has arrived.
