Five9 to buy Level AI for $325M as revenue grows 13%
What's the deal? Five9 has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Level AI for $325 million in all-cash, the contact-center software provider said alongside third-quarter results. The deal, announced November 5, 2026, is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary conditions.
What each company does: Five9 sells the Genius CX cloud contact-center platform. Level AI brings conversation analytics, agent-assist, and automation tools that Five9 can fold into its "Humantic CX" strategy.
By the numbers: Five9's Q3 revenue rose 13% to $323.3 million, up from $285.8 million a year earlier, with subscription revenue climbing 16%. GAAP net income fell to $14.5 million from $18 million, while non-GAAP net income rose to $63.7 million. Subscription dollar-based retention held at 109%.
What's the endgame? The deal marks a pivot from internal development toward buying AI capabilities. It could let Five9 sell AI tools to companies that have not adopted its cloud platform, widening the customer base it can reach.
Why now? "As AI reshapes the customer experience landscape, we believe adding Level AI strengthens our competitive position, expands the customers we can serve, and deepens the AI talent behind our continuous innovation," said chief executive officer Amit Mathradas.
What could go wrong? The $325 million cash outlay consumes roughly 47% of Five9's current cash and marketable investments, against $738 million in convertible senior notes on its balance sheet. Full-year guidance excludes any contribution from the pending deal, so its value hinges on integration and adoption.
The signal: Platform vendors are racing to own the AI layer around customer interactions. Salesforce has agreed to buy Cresta, and Dialpad and Ada announced a merger — placing Five9's purchase at the center of a wave of customer-service AI consolidation.
