Daksham Capital marks $13.2M first close for maiden consumer fund
What's the deal? Multi-family office and wealth management group Daksham Capital has secured US$17M (around $13.2 million) in the first close of Daksham Growth Ventures (DGV) Fund I, its maiden consumer-focused fund. The fund targets a US$20.4M corpus plus a US$20.4M greenshoe option, taking its potential size to US$40.7M. Family offices, high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, and entrepreneurs anchored the close.
What's the endgame? Led by cofounder and managing partner Shivam Diwan, DGV plans to back 10–15 startups with cheques of US$679K to US$2.72M (around $530,000 to $2 million). It will target post-product-market-fit businesses at the pre-Series A and Series A stages, with annual recurring revenue of US$3.4M–US$10.2M and the potential to scale to US$40.7M–US$67.9M.
Where will it invest? The mandate spans direct-to-consumer brands, consumer enablers, business-to-business-to-consumer and supply-chain businesses, and consumer-focused AI ventures. Direct consumer businesses are expected to account for 50–70% of investments.
Betting on capital efficiency: Diwan said the fund will invest only where product-market-fit risk is established. Startups need not be profitable but must have positive or neutral contribution margins. "Growth by burning an enormous amount of money is not the mantra. It should be a capital-efficient business," he said.
Why now? The close, achieved shortly after the fund's registration as a SEBI Category II alternative investment fund in October 2026, lands in a more selective consumer market.
The signal: Capital is still flowing to consumer brands with scale, as DailyObjectsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →' US$45.1M raise and GIVADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s US$132.4M round show. DGV adds a new, family-office-backed source of early-stage money — but its significance will hinge on deploying into differentiated businesses and reaching the full US$40.7M target.
