Catalan tech firm Clickame buys tourism platform Diskover

What's the deal? Clickame, a technology company based in Viladecans, has acquired Diskover CataloniaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Barcelona-born platform for discovering local events and tourist attractions. The terms were not disclosed. Clickame will fold the app into its infrastructure and add new features, including a conversational assistant.

What does each side bring? Diskover, founded in 2021, counts more than 40,000 active users and over 35,000 business listings across Catalonia, the rest of Spain, Portugal, and France. Clickame, launched in 2014, specialises in app development, cybersecurity, and cloud services.

What's the endgame? The deal changes Diskover's revenue model. "Revenue stops depending on public contracts and shifts to subscriptions from accommodation providers and local businesses," chief executive officer Esteve Blanch said (translated from Catalan). Listings for businesses and attractions will stay free, the company says, while paid plans add more data and information for users.

Why the AI assistant? Blanch said the new assistant lets users skip browsing categories: "It will ask directly what it wants to know." He added that this means Diskover can be used "on any surface, and not just inside the app."

What could go wrong? The platform has an audience and a large listings network, but neither yet pays. The test is whether Clickame can convert free users and businesses into paying subscribers.

The signal: This is a small, capability-focused deal rather than tourism-sector consolidation, with Clickame adding technology to a regional-discovery service. It fits a broader travel-tech pattern of buyers bolting on digital distribution and tooling — as when ÁvorisDealroom has a profile for this one.
