SFC Capital backs Nayara's AI patient-support platform in pre-seed round
What's the deal? UK-based healthtech company Nayara has closed a pre-seed funding round led by SFC CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an early-stage investor in the UK. The money will fund development of its AI platform, which supports patients between clinical appointments.
What's the endgame? Nayara builds AI companions for hospitals, healthcare systems, and medical technology companies. The tools answer routine questions, offer personalised guidance, check in with patients, and flag concerns that need a provider's attention.
Why now? Much of healthcare happens outside hospitals, where patients face uncertainty without immediate access to professional support. At the same time, clinical teams juggle routine enquiries with limited visibility into patients' progress between visits.
Nayara's technology is already in use across clinical pathways, including oncology; its AI companion for breast cancer patients has supported hundreds of people. The company combines input from medical professionals, patients, carers, and AI engineers to shape the platform.
"We started Nayara with a simple belief: no patient should feel alone in their healthcare journey," said co-founder and chief executive officer Gal Moore. He added that advances in medical technology have outpaced the evolution of patient support.
The new funding will accelerate product development, support clinical validation, and expand commercial activities.
The signal: Investor interest in health-AI that supports care delivery is clear, though recent rounds dwarf this one: HealthleapDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised $38 million in October for software that flags overlooked risks in hospital records, and BabaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → secured $40 million for an AI-supported Medicare service. Against those, SFC Capital's pre-seed bet on Nayara is early-stage — its significance will hinge on adoption and evidence of improved patient care, not the AI label alone.
